Customer Quality Engineer

My good friend is the President of a large non-automotive aluminum manufacturer in Dallas. The Quality Director is also a friend stretching back to the 1990s. He is out of automotive and knows the power, immediacy, and skill that brings to a non-auto environment.

They are building a brand new quality department with quality professionals out of the high volume AUTOMOTIVE QUALITY INDUSTRY (IATF). We just hired a Quality Director who is also a long-time friend of mine who is truly an outstanding quality leader.

There is a little something for everyone since there is plenty to do in the areas of auditing, APQP launch, and actual problem solving with your supply base. Saying there is a lot of low-hanging fruit is an understatement from a supply base standpoint. It is prime time to become a true hero! The current position is focused on the customer. Driving down complaints…problem solving and keeping great communitcation with the customer is the focus in this case. There will be travel invoved, but much of it depends on your attention and care on an ongoing basis.

Any and all certifications you might bring such as a CQA or CQE is definitely a plus as it demonstrates your interest and commitment to the quality field. We’ve been search consultants in automotive quality spanning 3 decades and only work with known players to ensure exceptional placements.

You must have a completed 4-year degree, with an engineering degree being a major plus.  You must also have IATF 16949 and plant hands-on manufacturing experience in the automotive or heavy-duty industries to be considered! You should have a working knowledge of PPAP, FMEA, 8Ds, Control Plans, and Capability Studies.  30%-50% travel.
